Our ride took us 150 miles on a mixture of gravel tracks, cycle paths and quiet country lanes starting in Wye amongst the Kent Downs and taking us round the coast through Margate, Dover and Dungeness before heading back inland to return to Wye.
Iona’s first time cycle touring, we cycled from Crewe to Wolverhampton via Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford and of course included a parkrun en-route at Trentham Gardens.
Has Iona got what it takes to climb mountains? Is parkrun easier or harder than ascending 2000ft in 2 miles? Or would it be all too much for an 8 year old?
Aviemore parkrun is a lovely run through woods and then onto open moorland with views out to the Caingorm mountains.

I love this bit of coast, perfect for an evening ride enjoying the sound of the sea, the views out to Skye on the way out and over the Torridon mountains on the return.
